Reach Out and Share Your Love and Gratitude This Season with Food!

This holiday season, we invite you to make a change to your gift-giving list and consider all of those friends, family, and acquaintances that you are grateful to have in your life.

Whether it’s the teacher that spends extra time with your child, the friend that never says no, an aging grandparent, or an aunt or cousin that you haven’t seen in some time; we encourage you to reach out to the people in your life and thank them for all that they do.

Set the mood

We like to wait until the end of the day when the children are in bed, and our husbands have been fed. We gather up our address book, a pen and clean piece of paper, then sit down with a delicious (dairy free) hot chocolate to wind down and help our creative juices flow.

Here are just a few of our ideas:

Visit a Grandparent, Elderly Cousin or Aunt and bring them a healthy, satisfying soup that is easy to warm up, and even easier to eat. A container or two of Carrot Leek Soup with Grilled Cheese Croutons or creamy Broccoli Cheddar are filling and perfect for cold winter nights. Soft foods like Pesto Rolls or Cheesy-Vegan Corn Muffins are a great accompaniment.

Treat Your Best Friend to a Healthy Homemade Supper like Butternut Squash Lasagna and fresh spinach salad, a Cheesy Quinoa Bake, or hearty Smothered Eggplant Balls.

Show your gratitude for your Babysitter, Handyman, or very quiet Neighbor with a sweet treat like a decadent Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting, Chocolate Peppermint Pinwheel Cookies, or Eggnog Coffee Cake.

Don’t forget your Clubs and Groups like your watercolor class, mindfulness gathering, astronomy club, or office. Show your appreciation with a basket of Jalapeño and Cream Cheese Empanadas, a bowl of Kale and Artichoke Dip or a tray of Soft Cannoli Cookie Sandwiches.
